Tongin Market: The Retro "Yeopjeon" Lunchbox Experience

๐Ÿ“About

Located just west of Gyeongbokgung Palace, Tongin Market is a beloved local spot with a fascinating twist. Its most unique feature is the "Dosirak Cafe" (Lunchbox Cafe), where you can exchange modern currency for traditional brass coins called "Yeopjeon." These ancient-style coins can be used as currency within the market to fill your lunchbox with various snacks like oil tteokbokki, kimbap, and fish cakes. Itโ€™s a perfect blend of history, culture, and street food.
